Public relations is more than mere promotion—it is about stewardship.
As a PR professional, I am drawn to the responsibility of maintaining and protecting a company's public image. This responsibility comes with discipline, tradition, and a sense of honor in ensuring that institutions and leaders present themselves with clarity, professionalism, and integrity.
To me, PR is not about chasing attention. It is about safeguarding reputation.
With academic training in Marketing, Journalism, Communication Studies, Business, and Asian & Asian-American Studies, I approach public relations through a multidisciplinary lens. I understand narrative construction, media systems, audience psychology, and brand positioning. PR allows me to integrate these perspectives into one strategic function: effectively shaping how organizations are perceived in the public sphere.

PR Origins
When I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2019 with a degree in Asian & Asian-American Studies I intended to pursue international diplomacy, but the Covid-19 pandemic redirected my journey. As uncertainty set in, I realized the path I had envisioned was no longer viable. I was forced to reassess my direction and skill set. At the time, I had already been running Directo, LLC, an independent e-commerce and branding company I founded specializing in archive fashion and international sales, managing marketing, branding, and international sales. What began as entrepreneurial experimentation revealed itself as a foundation. The disruption of 2020 brought clarity, so rather than retreat, I reenrolled at UNLV and committed to a triple major in Marketing, Journalism & Media Studies, and Communication Studies. As a result, public relations emerged not as a backup plan, but as the intersection of everything I have already been building.

Industry View
The PR landscape moves quickly. Digital cycles are short, and messaging spreads instantly. Many contemporary strategies prioritize immediacy over long-term reputation management. Visibility often outweighs legacy; reaction outweighs strategy.
I practice a more disciplined approach, one that values consistency, credibility, and intentional integration of modern digital tools. Strong public relations should not merely manage crises after they occur. It should build durable reputational frameworks that prevent instability in the first place. I assist organizations balance visibility with long-term reputational strategy through structured, research-driven communication.

Long-Term Path
Following graduation, my goal is to work in public relations for a large corporation or iconic organization, such as Apple Inc., Nike, or The Walt Disney Company. I am motivated by contributing to institutions whose public image influences both industries and culture. Working within a major company will allow me to refine my strategic communication skills while learning how large systems maintain credibility and public trust.
In the long term, I intend to pursue a Juris Doctor degree at UNLV’s Boyd School of Law—not to practice law, but to deepen my understanding of governance and institutional structure as preparation for future public leadership.
Before politics comes professionalism. Before leadership comes discipline.
